Later that night, Lauren and KG stood over a large working table at their ad agency. Lauren handed KG a beer from the fridge, and they clinked bottlenecks.
KG was holding a guitar with the guitar strap around his neck and was walking around, strumming a blues riff, “Something’s up with you, Lauren. I can feel it.”
“You wouldn’t believe it.”
KG gestured for him to proceed.
“Okay. Okay. I met a woman tonight.”
“That is unbelievable.”
“I can’t stop thinking about her.”
“When did you meet her. You were at our table all night.”
“Once while I was at the table, and once at the bar.”
“I didn’t see you talk to anyone,” KG insisted.
“Well, that’s the thing.”
KG strummed a blues riff as Lauren spoke, “What’s the thing?”
“We had an entire conversation from across the room.”
KG sang, ”I need you baby, I need you night and day.”
“We spoke with our eyes,” Lauren revealed.
“How’s that? I’ve been telling you since the divorce to get help,” KG continued to sing,”I need you baby and I’m comin undone. I need you baby and I’m comin’ undone.”
Lauren ignored being made fun of and continued, ”There’s one more thing. Well, two. She’s married.”
KG stopped playing,”You had a delusional conversation with a hot married woman? You’re not the first, I can assure you. And two?”
“We’re meeting tomorrow night.”
KG stared at Lauren for a longest time,” I’m scared too but you better go,” he sang again,”I need you baby and and I’m comin’ undone.”
